According to the company, Pillow Culture pays homage to the culture of graphic T-shirts in a way that visualizes the person’s interest.
“Wearing a t-shirt you can tell the world who you vote for, what music you listen to, how you’re feeling. With the Pillow Culture project, Magniberg takes our’ fascination with the t-shirt and interprets it into home textiles,” the company explained.
The initial Pillow Culture release saw Magniberg creating 15 different pillow covers featuring prints of a snake, high heels, and a drawing of Rainbow Dash from the animated series My Little Pony. Each design comes in a variety of colors, opening plenty of possibilities for customization.

“My husband looked online and saw that the house was actually one of the ones where Marilyn lived and it was one of the open houses for sale. We fell in love with it immediately. Not just because it was Marilyn’s house, but it also reminded me of Scotland,” Chiswell told The Post.

“I also work as the studio coordinator of The Fashion School, and we’ve made a series of Fashion Kits containing different projects to work on”, she said in an interview for Embellished Talk. “The kits vary from making tote bags to downloadable patterns to make crop tops and hot pants.”
However, after COVID-19 happened, she remembered the real reason behind starting her business. “It’s given me time to work on the things I’ve been avoiding or felt I never had the time to do. I’ve been able to just focus on making art for the fun of it rather than with a final product in mind,” she added.

]]>The artist uses bleached canvas as a starting point. She uses thread in natural colors to create gorgeous landscapes like scenes of streets in the fall and calming ocean beaches. She’s skilled in recreating scenes from nature using different shades of thread after sketching the design on canvas.
“I work as a graphic designer. I also could call myself an illustrator but in the narrow field of anime. I like drawing anime-style characters. I have never painted landscapes. If somebody had told me that I was going to like embroidering only landscapes, I would not have believed it,” Le Temps De Broder writes about Vates.

]]>And much like other forms of creativity, when it comes to paper art—no two artists are the same. Art duo Adrian Woods and Gidi van Maarseveen, aka Adrian & Gidi, take a more sculptural approach when it comes to paper. Based in Amsterdam, their commercial work includes fields like craft, design, and animation, with brands like ELLE, Vogue, Clinique, and Adobe, giving them a stamp of approval.
“Every project has its own challenges,” the two admitted in an interview with Medium. “When we are working with unfamiliar materials, and tight deadlines it can be challenging to get good results in limited time. But till now, we have seemed to manage.”
The two not only share a studio together but also a home. Having met at the Royal Academy of Arts, they’ve joined creative forces ever since. “We studied together, and helped each other with our art projects,” they further explained. “Our working together during the study blossomed into a relationship, which grew into a working collaboration. So actually, in a way, we have been working together since we met.”
Recent projects include a commercial for the Gucci Bloom perfume and a campaign shot for L’Occitane. But according to the creative duo, inspiration mostly comes from the banalities of everyday life. “Design wise we get a lot of inspiration from our daily lives,” they note. “For instance, when working on miniature architecture we get a lot of inspiration from the old buildings here in Amsterdam. You notice all the little details, and everything around you turns into miniature sets in your head.”

]]>For this project, Van Herpen teamed up with the nonprofit environmental organization Parley for the Oceans and used their Parlay Ocean Plastic fabric. The material comes from the plastic waste the organization collects from the world’s oceans and shores through their Parley Global Cleanup Network.
This isn’t the first time Van Herpen uses Parlay Ocean Plastic fabric in her works, having previously used the material for parts of her collection Roots of Rebirth.
“Parley for the Oceans has great expertise in recycling plastic from the ocean and transforming it beautifully into soft upcycled fabrics. The quality of their fabrics is really refined, and therefore perfectly suitable for haute couture also,” said Van Herpen.
Van Herpen had help from other artists on this project. This included French-British paper artist Rogan Brown, who contributed with his expertise in lace-like artworks and proficiency in coral reef-inspired designs. Visual artist James Merry, on the other hand, was responsible for the jewelry that was part of the collection.
