Designer Creates Futuristic Soccer Stadiums Using AI

Sports stadiums are becoming the new architectural wonders. They are not just a place where fans can come and watch their favorite teams anymore, but also stunning structures that aim to stand as an example of power and significance.

It seems that each new stadium design is looking to push the borders of imagination further. Curious about just how further they can get, artist and architect Pouria Babakhani decided to employ the Artificial Intelligence program Midjourney and create a series of futuristic soccer stadiums.

All of these intriguing stadium designs have been set in London, UK. This actually makes sense, considering that it is one of the most soccer-crazed cities in the world. London has 17 professional and semi-professional soccer teams and 22 stadiums. It is given that some of them will need renovation sooner than later, and the process could result in a new vision of soccer stadiums of the future.

Speaking about his project with designboom, Babakhani explained that the assistance of AI could play a great role in how architects approach the design of new stadiums as it will allow them to “streamline” their ideas.

“This can potentially lead to the revival of visionary architecture, where designers are able to fully embrace their creative potential and push the boundaries of what is possible in the built environment,” shared Babakhani.
