Olivia Christine Perez Didn’t Let Lupus Diagnosis Stop Her From Exploring the World

Traveling can have a healing effect on people from all walks of life and no one knows this better than Olivia Christine Perez. The founder of the travel blog O.Christine has always been very open about living with lupus, and she didn’t let her diagnosis get in the way of her travel adventures.

Perez describes herself as “a Bronx-born Afro-Latina”, who found joy and improved her healthy by investing in experiences and embracing the great outdoors. She’s been living with lupus for almost two decades, and she noticed that her health improved once she decided to lead a less stressful lifestyle and explore her passions.

Perez was still in college when she started her blog O.Christine and it grew from a safe space where he shared her personal experiences to a popular wellness and travel blog.

Over the years, she went on to visit 40 U.S. states and 35 countries, and her trips made her see that a healthy, traveling life with lupus is possible and she’s striving to maintain it every day.

“Years ago, lupus was once a challenge for me — and a significant roadblock along my traveling journey… These days, I am sure to see the doctor every 3-6 months, communicate my travel schedule, and plan itineraries that prioritize rest, destress, and hydration,” she told Sheen Magazine.
