Yimeng Yu’s Futuristic Creations are Pushing the Boundaries of Digital Fashion

If you’re not familiar with the term “digital fashion”, buckle up because it’s going to be one wild ride! Yimeng Yu is one of the visionary artists putting this inventive approach to fashion on the map, and her futuristic creations look straight out of this world.

Yu graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, and her background as a traditionally trained fashion designer prepared her for her shift to digital fashion. She embarked on this journey with one goal in mind, exploring avant-garde apparel and innovation within the fashion industry without creating any waste.

She opened her own studio in Beijing, which fully embraces the concept of sustainability and a metaverse future. She believes that digital fashion brings massive new possibilities in a more sustainable way, going beyond the physical limitations of traditional fashion.

“Digital fashion is not only a way to replicate what can be done in real life, but more importantly, a way to break the boundaries of physical limitations and achieve something beyond reality,” she told Meta Magazine.

Since embarking on this creative journey, Yu attracted 60,000 followers to her Instagram, taken part in several digital art shows and exhibitions, and won multiple awards. She’s also serving as the fashion design director at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in Beijing.
