Rarest Yu-Gi-Oh Card “Tyler the Great Warrior” Sells for $311,211

One card collector recently paid $311,211 for the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh card in existence. The card, Tyler the Great Warrior, was recently offered at an auction on eBay and attracted more than 200 bids before going to the hands of an unnamed buyer.

Tyler, the Great Warrior became the most expensive Yu-Gi-Oh card ever sold on eBay, thanks to the fact that it is the only one in existence. On top of that, there is an amazing story attached to the card.

The card was specially made for a boy named Tyler Gressle as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2005. Gressle was suffering from a rare disease and was granted a wish to receive a custom-made Yu-Gi-Oh based on Future Trunks, his favorite character from the popular Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z.

Gressle made the original sketch for the card’s artwork, and Takahashi Kazuki, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh, created the final design. Gressle also got to see the card being printed out and had the opportunity to meet with Kazuki and voice actors from Yu-Gi-Oh.

Fortunately, Gressle recovered from his disease and recently decided to sell the card in order to start a business. He did keep Kazuki’s original drawings of Tyler the Great Warrior artworks.
