Most drivers who work on rideshare platforms like Uber and Lyft will go above and beyond to ensure their passengers have a pleasant ride. But apparently, one elderly Lyft driver is prioritizing their own comfort and, by doing so, has made a lot of Internet users chuckle.

Reddit user u/joyisnotdead recently shared a photo on r/funny subreddit that shows one Lyft driver’s rules for passengers. Titled “Granny’s rules for the lyft,” the photo quickly went viral and for a good reason.

Most of “Granny’s rules” sound reasonable, but the way they are constructed is comedy gold. For example, the driver warns passengers not to smoke, eat, or drink in their car because it is not a hookah room/ diner. Also, making out and spraying perfume is off the table.

However, there are also rules that seem like they are not your standard car rules. The one that is most eye-catching is: “Do not touch or cuss around my parrot.” Apparently, they bring their pet bird with them for work and don’t want them to pick up some bad words.

Most Reddit users were amused by the list, although there were some who found it slightly too much.

“Honestly, all pretty reasonable things that shouldn’t have to be spelled out,” one user wrote in the comments section.

“This is far too crazy for my lyft driver. Just get me from a to b,” another added.

What about you? Do you think “Granny’s rules” are fair or not?
