Dogs and their humans usually develop all sorts of traditions that help them have a deeper bond. And while all of them are beautiful, the one between TikToker Dennis Gerard and his beloved dog Piper has to be one of the best we have seen in recent times.
In a clip posted on his TikTok, Gerard shared a special tradition between him and Piper that has run for the past 14 years. As it turns out, Gerard and Piper team up for every family game night, with the dog sitting in his owner’s lap and “helping” him make the right moves.
“He actually thinks he helps me and loves it when we cheer during the play,” Gerard wrote in the caption of the video.
The video quickly became viral, getting 1.4 million views and attracting hundreds of comments. TikTok users were amazed by Gerard and Piper’s tradition and loved how the pupper believes he is making an important contribution.
Gerard himself confirmed Piper’s “feel” for the game in the comment section.
“Did you notice how Piper leans into my “hand” and studies my cards? That’s his way of helping Daddy,” Gerard shared in the comments.
