Zahra Ammar Creates Amazing Designs Using Paper

Zarha Ammar is a Pakistani artist living in California. Her paper art is colorful and stunning. She’s inspired by not only paper, but also colors, book, and spending time outdoors.

Ammar is a self-taught artist who combines modular origami, kirigami, and quilling to express her creative ideas. She often creates motifs drawn from nature and biology and often uses a whole range of colors.

The artist has an educational background in Economics, Finance, and English. “She loves the versatility and form that paper has to offer. In her own way, her expressions are cut and folded into her artwork,” her website reads. “When not surrounding by mounds of paper, she is wandering outside on her bike with crazy ideas churning in her head, reading thrillers or writing poetry.”
